Drury Wins Trampoline Gold At Minsk World Cup

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 13, 2014 – Charlotte Drury of Laguna Niguel, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, won the women’s trampoline gold medal at the International Gymnastics Federation’s 2014 World Cup at the Palace of Sports in Minsk, Belarus. Drury is the first U.S. woman to win a World Cup trampoline gold medal since the discipline joined USA Gymnastics in 1999. In synchronized trampoline, Drury paired with Shaylee Dunavin of Amarillo, Texas/Air Extreme, where they claimed the bronze medal.

In the women’s trampoline final, Drury posted a 54.430 to take the title. Belarus’ Hanna of Harchonak and Tatsiana Piatrenia were second (53.730) and third (53.260), respectively. Reigning World and Olympic champion Rosie Maclennan of Canada finished in sixth place at 50.670. Based on available records, Drury is the first American to win a women’s World Cup gold in trampoline. Olympians Jennifer Parilla and Savannah Vinsant won silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Drury and Dunavin posted a 44.400, finishing just 0.300 behind silver medalists Beatriz Martins and Silvia Saiote of Portugal (44.700). Maclennan and Samantha Sendel of Canada garnered the title at 47.400.
