Chiroyogi Chiroyogi is a lifestyle, philosophy, and healing art. As a Doctor of Chiropractic and a registered yoga teacher, I blend the two disciplines into a powerful treatment for patients.
Chiropractic simply put means “done by hand.” In practice, chiropractic is a field of medicine that relies on the hands to diagnose, treat, and heal patients.
The main focus of my treatment is on correcting muscle and joint fixations. Muscle and joint fixations cause muscle pain, spasm, and decreased range of motion. These can occur anywhere in the body, but fixations in the spine have the most impact on the body as a whole. Fixations in the spine not only effect the muscles and joints in that area, but also the nerves. Nerves need room to exit the spinal cord and run to the rest of the body. However, fixations cause congestion and impede the nerves flow. As a result, the spine and nervous system function less optimally. My goal is to correct this problem and restore normal, pain free function.
My understanding of the spine has also led me to the practice of yoga. Yoga links the mind and body through breath and although there are hundreds of types of yoga, the common thread among them is emphasis on the health of the spine.
Not only does yoga increase flexibility and strength of the spine, but also promotes mind/body awareness. This element of yoga is of utmost importance because many injuries and ailments are caused by a lack of mind/body awareness. I have found a way to integrate yoga into all of my patients care through teaching them how to be more aware of their own bodies and by guiding them on their way to a healthy life.

Yogaburst Yoga Bursts is a concept based on ancient tradition of yoga being practiced everyday for shorter periods of time. The classes are 30 minutes in length. Each class creates a focus on different aspects of the body and mind ranging from biomechanics of core strengthening to meditative freedom. Once you get the hang of each class you can make them as intense as you feel necessary for that day's class.
